GOD THE FATHER MEMORY VERSE : Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? Exo. 15:11. BIBLE PASSAGE: Exodus 15:2-16 INTRODUCATION: Many philosophers in ages past had made great efforts trying to study God. Some sit and meditate for days on end trying to think into the realm created, the caused. However, the only true knowledge about God can be gained from the Bible (Jn. 1:18). The Old Testament, Moses talked to God and saw a part of Him but did not see His face (Exo. 33:23), But Jesus, who is God’s Son, came from heaven to reveal God the Father to us. WHOI IS GOD THE FATHER? God is a person, a Living Being. He is not just an influence or power like electricity (Jer. 10:10). He has eyes (11 Cor.16:9), eye that can move and see unlike the eyes of idols and other false gods. He also has knowledge and understanding (Ps. 94:11). INTRODUCATION : In the first part of the lesson, we learnt that not all believers are called to be preachers but all can become fishers of men. That means you too can be a fisher of men. We also learnt that there are several reasons why we must fish for souls. Some of these reasons are: the worth of a soul which is more than the worth of the whole world; the fact that hell is real and is a terrible place that you should not allow even your enemies to end up there; then there is the suffering of Christ on the Cross which you must not allow to be in vain and there is also the fact that your efforts are not in vain.In the second part, we shall learnt about the technique of fishing, the procedure and general rules of winning souls for Christ. FISHING FOR MEN'S SOULS - PART ONE MEMORY VERSE : And He saith unto them, follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. Matt. 4:19. BIBLE PASSAGE: Matthew 4:18-25 INTRODUCATION: Few are called to be preachers or evangelists, but every born-again Christian is called to be a fisher of men. Every born-again child of God has the opportunity to deal individually and personally with men’s souls. Fishing for a soul is a definite effort to lead a definite person to accept Christ as Saviour and Lord at a definite time, Andrew brought Peter to Christ (Jn. 1:41-42). BATISM OF HOLY SPIRIT MEMORY VERSE : And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh. Joel 2:28. BIBLE PASSAGE: ACTS 2:1-18 INTRODUCTION: The baptism into the Holy Spirit involves both the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ the Baptizer. Therefore, the baptism is preceded by total surrender and absolute commitment to Jesus. Without this He cannot baptize you in the Holy Spirit. In the case of water baptism, the candidate undergoes total immersion into the river. The candidate does not receive the river, it is the river receiving and overflowing the candidate. When the candidate enters the river, he does not swim about or dive, he walks calmly, resolutely (no going back, I will be baptized today) and keeps going until he stands close to the baptizer. At that point he hands over himself completely to the pastor who will then baptize him. There are many books but only one book is referred to as the Book, and that is the Bible. It is the oldest book in existence. It required sixteen hundred years to write it and the first writer died 1450 years before the last writer was born. It has been translated into more than 1000 languages and dialects.
