BIBLE PASSAGE: 1 Thessalonians 4:13, 5:6 INTRODUCATION : Acts 1:10-11 describe the ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ as being (i) personal, (ii) bodily, (iii) visible and (iv) with power. The second coming of our Lord will be exactly the same. The Saviour first coming was in humiliation, but it will be in two stages: (a) The rapture which is secret (1 Thess. 4:15-17), when the Lord comes FOR His saints and we meet Him in the air (b) The revelation which is public (Rev.1:7), when the Lord comes WITH His saints to set up the Millennium (1 Thess. 3:13). Question: "How can we store up treasures in heaven?" Answer: Jesus told us to “store up for yourselves treasures in heaven” ( Matthew 6:20 ). He linked this command to the desire of our hearts: “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” ( Matthew 6:21 ; see also verses 10–20). The Bible mentions rewards that await the believer who serves the Lord faithfully in this world ( Matthew 10:41 ). A “great” reward is promised to those who are persecuted for Jesus’ sake. Various crowns are mentioned (in 2 Timothy 4:8 , e.g.). Jesus says that He will bring rewards with Him when He returns ( Revelation 22:12 ). We are to treasure the Lord Jesus most of all. When Jesus is our treasure, we will commit our resources—our money, our time, our talents—to His work in this world. Our motivation for what we do is important ( 1 Corinthians 10:31 ). BIBLE PASSAGE: Ephesians 5:22-32 INTRODUCATION : The Bible does not recognize any Denomination or any visible Church on earth as The Church. The Church which is the Body of Christ consists of all regenerated souls. Each one redeemed by the Blood of Christ and transformed by the Holy Spirit. Only a small part of the Church is on earth now for a great part have already gone to be with the Lord. The Supreme work of God in this age is the gathering of the Church (Acts 15:14). The Church has no visible head on earth but an unseen Head (Jesus Christ) in heaven.
